Education workshops: Sep-Oct 2018

In 2018 we continued our partnership with community organisation Rhythm India, supporting educational workshops for 60 children.

The workshops took place over two months in September and October, culminating with performances at Rhythm Utsav 2018, an event celebrating Indian classical music and dance.

Rhythm Utsav 2018 took place at Redmaids’ High School in Westbury-on-Trym. As in 2017, the event was organised by Rhythm India and we supported the workshops and programmed the headline artists. In 2018, we brought together four incredible musicians for an exciting new collaboration: Roopa Panesar (sitar player), Jesse Bannister (saxophonist), Kousic Sen (tabla) and RN Prakash (Carnatic percussionist).

The event also featured other Bristol based artists performing alongside the school groups.
