Experience one of the world’s rarest living musical traditions, Warsi Brothers – leading exponents of qawwali

Experience one of the world’s rarest living musical traditions, live in Bristol. Naseer and Nazeer Ahmed Khan Warsi from India – known worldwide as the Warsi Brothers – are leading exponents of qawwali, the devotional Sufi music of South Asia.

Their lineage traces directly back to the Qawaal Bachhey, trained by Amir Khusrau, the 13th-century founder of qawwali, representing an unbroken 700-year tradition of the Delhi Gharana. Based in Hyderabad, their ancestors served as court musicians to the Nizam of Hyderabad, while maintaining lifelong service to Sufi shrines; Warsi Brothers are devoted custodians of shrine service and Khusrau’s classical repertoire, they continue to bring Khusrau’s musical and spiritual legacy to audiences across the world.

Winners of the 2025 Aga Khan Music Awards and recipients of India’s Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, their performances are immersive, powerful and deeply spiritual. Blending sacred poetry, rhythm and devotion, this rare UK appearance offers more than a concert – it is a living encounter with Sufi heritage, history and mastery, brought vividly to life on stage – bringing centuries of sacred poetry, rhythm, and devotion to contemporary audiences.

This concert is a rare performance opportunity — a chance to witness a tradition that few living artists can still offer. With continued support, the Warsi Brothers aim to document their vast repertoire and mentor the next generation, ensuring this extraordinary spiritual legacy endures.
