Breaking Barriers – UK

Breaking Barriers is a ground-breaking talent development programme for South Asian musicians.

Breaking Barriers was specifically created by Asian Arts Agency in 2020 to address some of the challenges that were being faced by the South Asian artists and freelancers that we work with, who suffered the negative impacts of Covid disproportionately with serious impacts on their livelihoods and careers.

The programme created new music commissions and digital performance opportunities for artists and provided training and development support.

It was delivered in partnership with leading arts venues and specialist music industry organisations, including Arnolfini, BPI, Bristol Beacon and Real World Studios in Bath.
