Different Directions was a major project that looked at diversity and cultural leadership in Bristol as part of the Cultural Leadership Programme.

Asian Arts Agency aimed to bring leaders of organisations together to raise their level of engagement with diversity and look at long-term strategies to develop the skills of leadership within Bristol’s cultural sector.

The programme of work included key activities such as coaching sections, cultural city research trips, and partnership working.

The organisations involved were Arnolfini, Asian Arts Agency, Bristol Old Vic, Bristol Museums and Galleries, Cirque Bijou, Colston Hall, Picture This, Roaring Girl Productions and St Paul’s Carnival.

Eight artists were selected to take part and individual bursaries were awarded with a value of £21.5K.

In total between 35-40 cultural leaders benefited from the programme.
