CARGO: SEEKING ACTORS/PHYSICAL PERFORMERS & CHOREOGRAPHERS


CARGO is a new, culturally diverse large-scale outdoor co-production with Edinburgh Mela Festival

Actor / Performer Brief
We are looking for actors and performers of various ages, especially from Asian/African/Middle Eastern backgrounds to take part in CARGO. 
 
The production will be non-text based and so actors and performers with keen physical skills and an enthusiasm for improvising are encouraged to get in touch. If you have musical, circus arts and/or street arts skills then, please also consider making contact.

Choreographer / Movement Director Brief
We are looking for someone who has good experience of movement direction in a theatre context. We anticipate that they will be heavily involved in the creation of the staging with the Director. This will involve them having devising and improvisational skills and able to develop and integrate those ideas within a choreographed context within the production. They should probably have an awareness and experience of working in cross-arts and of course having expertise in large scale will be important too.


Rehearsals: 21 June – 5 August
Performances: 6-22 August 2010 (Edinburgh Mela Festival / Edinburgh Fringe)
Contract period will be 9 weeks.
